Tam O’Shanter Country Club in Brookville has been sold to New Brunswick, New Jersey-based Titan Golf, LLC, a forward-thinking company that has successfully enhanced the club experience and expanded membership to financially challenged private country clubs.
As part of the “new beginning” at Tam O’Shanter Country Club, Titan Golf has introduced a new reduced membership rate structure, with no assessments or taxes for current members. Titan Golf is leading the way in creating a “new tradition” in the industry by bringing stability and affordability to country clubs and offering opportunities for young families and new members to create memories. At Tam O’Shanter, Titan Golf has already reduced annual dues by 25 percent and members will have no assessments or sales tax.
“By lowering the dues, we’ve created a very strong private club offering on the North Shore,” said Titan Golf Partner Robert Weiss.
Tam O’Shanter is an iconic name for the residents of the Gold Coast of Long Island and a country club where friendships have been created that have lasted a lifetime. Golf, tennis, fitness, and fun are what Tam O’Shanter has built its reputation on.
Titan Golf owners Weiss and Efrem Gerszberg embrace the membership that is a part of the rich history of Tam O’Shanter.
“Members will continue to be actively involved in all decisions related to the club experience, and the club’s existing workforce will be retained,” said Gerszberg.
Tam O’Shanter Country Club was established in 1962 and has long been considered one of the top courses for low-handicap golfers on LI. The 18-hole, par 72 golf course was originally designed by Steve Kristoss.
In 1968, famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. remodeled Tam O’Shanter. A 1999 renovation and redesign by architect David Postlethwait incorporated more of the natural terrain surrounding the property. In addition to golf, the club also features a resort-style pool, tennis facilities, and a fitness center.
