Summer is already here and instead of traveling far and wide for an expensive excursion, have your fun right here in Long Island. There are plenty of spots across the island for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy themselves at a reasonable price point from amusement park, swimming pools and batting cages.
Here are some of the best spots for your next summer adventure:
Adventureland

Adventureland is a family-friendly amusement park with rides and arcades located in Farmingdale. It has rides for kids of all ages and adults can get in on the fun as well.
It has free parking and entry to the park and prices are affordable for anything you plan to do. Single tickets cost $1.50 each and every ride costs between three to five tickets. Another option would be to pay for the pay-one-price (POP). The POP costs $33.99 per person and with this bracelet you will have access to any ride as many times as you like at Adventureland.
If you’re going with a group of 20 or more, you can even get a discount on the POP for $26.50 per person.
High Velocity Paintball

High Velocity Paintball supplies all you need to have a great and fun time with your friends. The outdoor course has seven unique fields that all have different sizes, props and strategies behind them. Every course has a theme behind it—attack and defend, air force, the castle, the trenches, the western town, the woods and World War II.
They are open every weekend of the year from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and every Friday after June 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For individual walk-ons without any of their own equipment it will cost at least $85. For groups 20 or over there will be discount and you can play all seven outdoor fields against with your private group throughout the day.
Bayville Adventure Park

The Bayville Adventure Park is a pirate-themed outdoor park on the North Shore that also turns into Bayville Scream Park after the summer. The park contains a miniature golf course, bumper boats, rock climbing, ropes course, a fun house, bungee bounce and an arcade.
It’s open on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Each activity has its own price point ranging from $5 to $13, but you can get a VIP pass for $31.75 that allows you all day entry for anything in the park.

North Woodmere Park has all you want and more for a summer activity. It has 10 tennis courts, six handball/paddleball courts, two lighted basketball courts, two softball fields and one baseball field. It also has a nine-hole golf course with holes ranging from 140 yards to 395 yards and a driving range.
The biggest attraction it has might be its expansive swimming complex. The complex includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a diving pool, water slide, and three different kiddie-pools. It also contains amenities such as lockers, dressing areas, showers, a concession stand, a sun shelter, and lounge and deck chairs.
North Woodmere Park swimming complex is open during the weekdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A daily fee of $9 for adults and $6 for every child that is a resident of Nassau County.
Batter Up Batting Cage

Batter Up Batting Cage in Bethpage has baseball and softball cages as well as an 18-hole miniature golf course. The baseball cages feature baseballs from 35 miles per hour to 80 miles per hour. The softball cages allow for an eight to 10-inch arc with softballs coming in at 35 and 50 miles per hour. The cages work on a token system, each token is $2 and for every token you get 10 pitches.
Batter Up Batting Cage also offers team training for $75 per hour with at least seven kids registered. The complex is open on Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
