Available for adoption through Pioneers for Animals Welfare Society:

Midnight 1
Midnight

Look at this face! Midnight is a sweet 6-year-old gal who is extremely friendly and ridiculously sweet. When she’s not looking to play, she’s really just seeking out someone to cuddle with her. Midnight is the definition of the purrfect pet, please consider opening your heart and home to her today.

Elsie
Elsie

Elsie is a 2-year-old, 60-pound American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix, who is as smart as she is cute. Elsie knows her basic commands (especially if treats are involved), and she has incredible deeply loving energy making it easy for her to make instant connections with humans. Her favorite place to sleep is in bed next to you, or the couch works too.  Unfortunately, Elsie and her canine housemate got into a fight recently and as per the recommendation of a behaviorist, the dogs can no longer live together.

Elsie should be placed in a home with no other dogs and adult only children. She loves walks, car rides and snuggling. Elsie is a total athlete and while she would love a yard of her own, she will happily settle for a daily run with the right human. Elsie comes with transferable pet insurance that covers 90 percent of all problem-related vet expenses other than the exam fee (including medications, labs, x-rays, surgery, etc.). The cost of insurance for the first year will be taken care of by her current guardians.

If you can open your heart and home to Midnight or Elsie, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616.

Captain Kirk and Chester
Captain Kirk and Chester

Captain Kirk and Chester are both Senior Male Domestic Shorthair mushes. Both kitties are FIV+ and have had rough lives in the streets before their time in the shelter. For now, they’re just looking for the family they need and deserve. They’ve got a lot of life experience under their belts but have plenty more love left to give. Both good fellows would prefer to be in a home without dogs or other male cats.

Captain Kirk is the most loving cat you will ever meet. He does have some neurological issues that affect his back legs, but you would never guess it, given his great attitude. Captain Kirk is always focusing on the positive and would love to spend the rest of his days snuggling and cuddling with anyone.

Chester was brought into the shelter by a Good Samaritan who found him wandering the streets. If you want an affectionate cat, Chester is the right cat for you! Despite his rough start to life, he is still trusting and friendly to all people. He’s got a very social personality and loves to spend time with humans.

If you are interested in meeting Captain Kirk or Chester, please contact the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter at 410 East Main St., Smithtown, or call 631-360-7575 for more information today!

This sensational 10-year-old lady was given all the time and space she needed and with the love and support of NSALA’s behavior and medical teams, Luna has evolved into a self-confident diva who is first to greet visitors at the door with head bumps and demands for attention. Her ideal home is one where she is the sole object of affection of a very experienced cat lover who wants to reward Luna with a retirement befitting a queen. Luna’s looking for a home with no children. She’s being treated for chronic rhinitis at cost through NSALA’s Medical Center in Port Washington.

**Double Adoption** Macie (adoption #BF2507) and Madeline (adoption #BF2508) are shyly hanging out together in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. These 9-month-old bonded tabby sisters have already survived winter on the local streets. Now they’re living their best life, snuggling together and accepting treats from new human friends. It won’t be long until this twosome finds their way into their first home! If you have some cat experience, children 8+ in age, and a quiet place for lovely young ladies to land, Macie and Madeline would love to meet their hero.

Atlantic (adoption #BF3225) was discovered in a difficult situation and brought to the safety of NSALA’s Adoption Center—his first safe home. This timid 7-month-old guy is learning to trust humans with the example of his feline friends. He will learn quickly in a calm home with a cat companion and humans who show him patience and love, that his future will be much brighter than the scary past he left behind. If you have a special place in your heart and home for Atlantic, please head down or ask about him today.

Angelou
Angelou

When staff and volunteer saw Angelou (adoption #D48082) greeting visitors with bold head bumps, they were so proud of how far she has come in such a short time. This 3-year-old, unique beauty can’t say how she ended up at NSALA, but her newfound freedom in a safe place with like-minded friends has afforded her a new lease on life. Angelou’s ideal home is a peaceful one with children 6+ in age where she can continue to build up her confidence as she settles into a new life as a family member.

Montague

It didn’t take him long to realize his new spot in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center is the place to be. With just a little reassurance, this shy boy is content in his bed knowing he is safe and loved. Now we are looking for a quiet home with children 10+ in age and a confident cat to show him how life is supposed to be lived.
