pjimage – 2020-07-31T123939.615

There’s no better way to spend the dog days of summer with a new furry friend. All of these cats and dogs have their bags packed and ready to head home with you today!

Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:

Beauty
Beauty

Not sure why Beauty has been in a municipal shelter for more than 500 days. In that time she has shown that she is an extremely smart learner and very cuddly with people she bonds to. She loves to watch the goings-on around the shelter from a high spot or a doggy lounger. She is still skittish around loud noises or strange people/dogs getting too close, but she trusts her person holding the leash to keep her safe. Beauty is a 3-year-old gal who is affectionate with people she knows and trusts. She enjoys training, long walks and relaxing. Due to some food guarding, she would do best with people ages 17 and up.

Please email foster@tohmail.org or adoption@tohmail.org for more information on how to make Beauty your new baby today!

Available for adoption through Cove Animal Rescue:

**Senior Alert** Meet Daisy.  Sadly, this super sweet 13-year-old gal suddenly finds herself without a home. She and her senior mom were content growing old together, but now her mom can no longer care for her. Daisy is simply a doll and is even good with other dogs. She needs a new person/family to love and a home where she can live out her golden years.

Abby
Abby

**Senior Alert** Abby is a 14-year-old shih tzu mix. Her vision is impaired, but she gets around well and her hearing is top notch. Abby walks well on a leash, does well with children over 5 and even likes other dogs. Abby has some separation anxiety due to recent major changes in her life and would do best with a person who was able to be home with her most of the time.

Benny
Benny

Look how cute Benny is! He is a 5-to-7-year-old Cocker Spaniel/ Terrier mix weighing in at just 18 pounds and loves to snuggle and take walks on the beach. Don’t tell Benny that he only has one eye because it doesn’t stop him from getting around just fine. Benny was picked up as a stray by a local animal shelter and PAWS took him into their foster care program, which means he is more than ready to find a permanent forever home today!

Molly
Molly

Meet little Miss Molly. This beautiful 6-year-old finds herself at PAWS because her owner passed away. Molly is currently living with a guardian angel but will soon need to be evicted. She is super sweet and will cuddle up next to you once she gets over her initial shyness. She is used to a quiet house so no young children would be best.

Tommy
Tommy

**Senior Alert** Look at this cute little face! If Tommy could talk, he would ask you to please to take pity on him and give him a loving home to call his own. Tommy is 10 years old and his mom just passed away, leaving him all alone in the house. He has no other family and he needs someplace to go. Can you help this sweet boy?

If you are interested in adopting any of these sweethearts, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616.

Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter:

Morty 1
Morty

**Senior Alert** Meet the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week, Morty. Morty is a 10-year-old Havanese pup. Morty unfortunately had a rough start to his life, and he’s looking for the right home to help him get back on his feet. He was found as a stray in the industrial park with severe skin infections, ear infections, and dry eye. He has a long road to get back to normal, but through it all, his spirit remains bright, and he still holds on to his sweet and loving nature. Little Morty has been neglected before and he didn’t let it break him. He needs a home that can take care of his needs, give him his medication, and shower him with the love he deserves. Morty will do well in a home with calm dogs, cats and older children.

If you are interested in meeting Morty, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in a domestic setting, which includes the shelters Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail. Contact the shelter for more information about adopting Morty today! 631-360-7575.

Handsome Harry
Handsome Harry

Handsome Harry sure does live up to his name! 5-year-old Harry comes from The Mill House Restaurant in Yaphank. He had been a part of a feral colony of six cats. Harry joined this feral cat colony a few years back and was always the first to run for the food delivered nightly by Last Hope volunteers. When a recent call came in saying Harry was limping, Last Hope volunteers jumped to help him. Harry was found with a cut between his toes on one paw and was extremely affectionate and loving with is caretakers. He loves petting and makes biscuits with his feet while enjoying attention, giving him purrfect pet potential! You can find more information and an adoption application for Harry on Last Hope’s webpage at lasthopeanimalrescue.org

Available for adoption through North Shore Animal League America:

Liberty
Liberty

Liberty (Adoption #SCR3118) is in the pursuit of her happiness. This young southern rescue is enjoying all the freedom of her cage-free room in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center but of course she’s searching for a home she can call her own where she can enchant her new family with her vibrant 8-month-old kitten energy (and beg for more snacks than she needs.)  Liberty’s fun purr-sonality makes her a top choice for energetic families looking for a furry playmate who will add more zip to their lives.

Valentina and Vinnie
Valentina and Vinnie

What Valentina (Adoption #L80542) and Vinnie (Adoption #L80543) lack in bright coloring they more than make up for in charm! This bonded set of mini house panthers was born with purrfect personalities. Valentina loves to be petted by visitors, while Vinnie is a belly-rub-loving, purring machine! Valentina and Vinnie are ideal family members for any home, especially new cat owners looking to spoil a delightful pair of easy going 5-month-old kittens. Two hearts are better than one!

Charlize
Charlize

Timid stunner Charlize (Adoption #G25734) has pushed herself beyond her comfort zone to entice adopters who might give her a permanent, loving home. This velvety soft 4-year-old lady traveled all the way from Georgia, hanging on the hope her forever home is waiting for her up here. Staff finds her nestled in a comfy bed in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. Because she craves peace and quiet, Charlize would do best in a household with children 12+ in age and cat-experienced adults to help ease her into your family. Charlize is quietly waiting for someone to offer her a gentle ear rub and a ride home with you to her happily ever after.

Sebastian 1
Sebastian

When 1-year-old Sebastian (Adoption #BF3441) arrived at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, he was unsure of this new life away safely away from the streets. The comfy beds and gentle purr-suasion by the BFF team has begun to chip away at his reservations. A quiet home with patient family members who will help transform Sebastian into a contented cat is our dream for this gentle gentleman.

Grenada
Grenada

Three-year old Grenada (Adoption #H210754) does a cute trick where she collapses into purrs the moment you notice her.  She’s never known a home before but we’re hopeful a quiet one will give her all the loving attention she missed out on while she was caring for herself on the busy local streets. If you’d like to set her motor running, please blink twice. She’ll know you’re as ready to commit to her as she is to becoming part of your family.

Jasmine
Jasmine

**Senior Alert** Jasmine (Adoption #H198710) has had a bit of bad luck lately, but she’s not going to let that bring her down. This perky 11-year-old’s chipper cattitude isn’t only infectious—it’s inspiring! Her friends at Animal League America have given her a great big welcome and hope she’ll find the quiet, loving home she deserves. If you’re looking for a super-affectionate senior to show you how grateful she is for a blissful retirement home, Jasmine is more than willing to fill that role.
