The 15th Annual Surf Rats Ball Shin Dig was held at the Captree Bait and Tackle in Babylon on July 25.
Eighty attendees were treated to culinary delights from Jeff the Chef and Snowflake Ice Cream in Riverhead. Winners from the Surf Rats Ball Stripers Tournament held in June were announced and presented with awards and trophies, followed by announcements of the much anticipated raffle held in support of KiDS NEED MoRE, the Long Island based charity which supports children and families battling life-threatening illnesses.
Fisherman come from all over the east coast to attend the Shin Dig as it draws some of the best names in sport fishing like Fred Golofaro, Donny “Super Strike” Musso, Crazy Alberto, Zeno Hromin, DJ Muller and many more. The lively raffle raised a total of $5,340 for KiDS NEED MoRE.
