A unmasked woman shopping at King Kullen in Massapequa threatened to beat up a supermarket worker after the employee told the shopper to put on her mask in a video that is going viral this weekend.

The angrily anti-mask woman is heard going on a profanity-laced rant near the frozen food aisle after the worker had the audacity to ask the shopper to follow the New York State mandate requiring people wear masks in stores to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

“Don’t pull your communist bullshit on me,” the classy woman screams at the essential worker while shouting that the employee must be stupid because she works in a supermarket. “I’ll beat the f****** shit outta you!”

Public confrontations over masks have become commonplace since Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order mandating masks and social distancing in public places after New York State became a COVID-19 hot-spot in March.

In one instance, a man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman who asked him to put on a mask while they rode together on a Suffolk County Transit bus near downtown Riverhead last month, Southampton Town Police said.

The Massapequa video, posted on Twitter by @davenewworld_2, has gotten nearly 25,000 views as of this post since it was posted late Saturday night. One woman who responded to the tweet said the worker was her mother, who is concerned about potentially bringing the virus home to two 70-year-old relatives with whom she lives. The elderly are most at-risk for fatal coronavirus complications.

“My mother didn’t deserve to be screamed at for any of this,” the daughter tweeted. “It’s disgusting when someone can’t respect another’s own safety during a pandemic. Absolutely horrible.”
