There’s another reason to smile now that the long awaited Italian restaurant Sorriso recently opened its doors in Garden City Park after a three-year roadblock due to county permits.
“We love to offer good food and make customers happy,” general manager Vinny Bulzomi said about why they decided to open the restaurant. “Customers can expect Italian comfort food.”
Sorriso, which means smile in Italian, offers wood-fired pizza and a wide variety of chicken, pasta, seafood and veal options. There’s also a children’s menu for the youngsters.
The owners of Sorriso also own Pietro’s Brick Oven Pizza in Oyster Bay.
“We opened that business in 2015 and it is very successful thanks to our loyal customers and consistent food quality,” Bulzomi said.
Even though everyone is in the midst of a global pandemic, Bulzomi said that business is picking up.
“Business is starting to pick up with the pandemic,” he said. “We follow all health department guidelines and maintain an A grade from the health department.”
Sorriso is open Mondays through Wednesdays from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursdays from 1 to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 9 p.m.
Sorriso is located at 2232 Jericho Tpke. in Garden City Park.
