Zena e1603473118998
Zena

It’s so hard to follow Zena’s back story, but it seems as though her owner was evicted and left her tied up to a tree with no food or water. Everyone is just heartbroken for this sweet girl, but hopefully her luck is about to change. Zena is friendly with people and is being recommended for a home with kids 15 and up. This 5-year-old baby is very petite, weighing in at 52 pounds. She is house trained and knows “sit,” “down,” and “touch.” Zena is looking for an active household as she is energetic and loves to play. Zena is recommended to go as a solo pet. If you are interested in adopting Zena, please contact the shelters placement team at 516-785-5220 or email  Adoption@tohmail.org, Foster@tohmail.org or Rescue@tohmail.org

Parker
Parker

Meet the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week, the snuggly and sweet Parker! Parker is an 8-9-year old Chihuahua Mix who’s had a bad run of luck, losing his mom to the COVID-19 virus. He was well loved and over-indulged, and it shows. Parker has developed food and toy aggression, which requires a home that is comfortable managing this, and implementing strict rules and structure; all while understanding that Parker is 100% worth the effort. This handsome hunk adores every person, cat, and friendly dog, big or small. Parker loves meeting new friends, sitting on laps, and going on adventures. This poor boy has been through the ringer and needs a furrever home that won’t give up on him.

If you are interested in adopting Parker, please fill out an adoption application online or call 631-360-7575 today for more information today!

Meru
Meru

Meru’s (Adoption D48071) life took a rapid detour until she found herself in our care, surrounded by strangers in a strange new place. NSALA is giving this 1-year-old beauty all the time she needs to adjust to her new life, and are hoping her time with us becomes a faded memory once she settles into her full life ahead as a cherished family member. Having the opportunity to watch her grow in our care, we’ve been able to determine that a quiet, predictable home with children 16 and older in age and no other pets is what Meru will need for a smooth transition. Your gentle hand and loving heart will help her settle into a blissful life as a grateful companion.

Chianti
Chianti

Chianti (Adoption #E3707) is as smooth as the wine inspired his name. After surviving Hurricane Laura and traveling all the way to Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center for his chance to be adopted, this delightful 2-year-old ginger boy is ready to try anything to grab your attention. He’s so excited to meet new human friends, he just can’t stop talking about it! Chianti would prefer to be the center of attention, so a home with no other pets is the home for him! Because he can be overzealous with enthusiasm at times, a cat-experienced home with children 16 and older will help him successfully transition into a member of the family. If you’d like to enjoy the entertainment he provides, please swing by and make him yours today!

Michaela
Michaela

One of our local heroes discovered this regal declawed beauty wandering through their local feral colony. How lucky was Michaela (Adoption #L80609) to be discovered that day?!  Michaela has received loads of love and attention from her veterinary friends while being readied for a fresh start. Now tucked into a quiet space in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, this stunning 8-year-old lady is tentatively testing out laps and tapping for more attention. Shy at first, she simply can’t resist a good treat from a new friend and will melt within minutes once she’s offered the icebreaker. Michaela’s mild heart condition is being monitored through our Pet Health Centers; her care is covered at cost when using our wonderful vets! A quiet home with no other pets is exactly what Michaela yearns for and deserves. If you’d like to be the one Michaela taps on for attention, please ask about meeting her!

Kyle
Kyle

When 5-year-old Kyle (Adoption #BF2414) was discovered in a backyard in distress, good Samaritans contacted NSALA’s rescue team who scooped him up and brought him to safety. His time outdoors has left him FIV+, but after a brief stay with our veterinary team, Kyle’s health is restored. Now NSALA is looking to restore his trust in humans, which is very easy to do in a quiet home with someone dedicated to giving him lots of ear rubs and treats—he can’t resist them! The tender loving care Kyle craves will elevate you to being his hero, but you’re the one who’s going to feel rescued when you’re on the receiving end of his gratitude.

Julianna
Julianna

Two-year-old Julianna (Adoption #NCI1882) has mothered her last litter. Staff and volunteers can’t think of a better way to celebrate this accomplishment than finding her a safe, quiet home now that her mama cat duties are behind her. This lovely lady came to us from our sister shelter up in Glen Falls, NY with the hopes that her permanent family will soon discover her downstate.  Lucky them when they do because Julianna is purrfect!

Snowball
Snowball

Snowball (Adoption #NCI1891) is more a fluffy cloud of impurrfections than a cold, wet ball of slush. If you’re looking for a zen lap warmer, this 6-month-old kitten seeks nothing more than cuddle time with a trusted human. Snowball’s friends in our Glen Falls shelter felt she needed NSALA’s Medical team to look at her heart and create a plan for her care. Her heart condition is covered through our Pet Health Center at cost thus removing any obstacles on her path to finding a forever home. She’s ready to live her best life tucked under the chin of her hero. If you have the heart to give someone special the life she deserves, please consider Snowball for all your future cuddle-time needs.
