Oliver Izzy Winston Isabelle
Oliver, Izzy, Winston & Isabelle

**Special Request** When Oliver, Winston, Isabel, and Izzy recently lost their family to COVID, they literally lost everything. The NCSPA is in search of a very special home that would be willing to adopt all four of these sweet pups. Oliver is an adorable 5-year-old black lab described as very sweet and loves to be rubbed. Winston is a playful 5-year-old boxer, Isabelle is a 4-year-old lab mix with lots of playful energy, and Izzy is a shy, 6-year-old Chihuahua who is known to warm up quickly to people he meets.

If you can open your heart and home to this family, please contact the NCSPA at 516-527-2921 or email them for an application at [email protected]. If you would like to donate to their care, please do so here: nassaucountyspca.org.

Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter

Birdie
Birdie

Birdie is a 2-year-old dark grey Tabby who came to the animal shelter after she was found as a stray. She was seen wandering around for several months and enjoyed hanging out in the neighborhood trees. Birdie has been in the animal shelter for a few weeks after she was not claimed. She is outgoing, affectionate, and she loves meeting new people. Birdie needs a home that will give her all the love and care she deserves.

If you are interested in meeting Birdie, please call 631-360-7575 for more information.

Available for adoption through Pioneers for Animals Welfare Society

Misty
Misty

Misty is a beautiful girl who was found as a kitten at a construction site. She was taken in by a loving family where she has remained until now. Sadly, they need to relocate out of the country, so Misty needs a new home. She is 3 years old, grey, on the smaller side, spayed, and healthy. She is not fond of loud noises or big crowds, possibly because of her difficult start, but she is very sweet. She will become your best friend, follow you around the house, but she is shy with those she doesn’t know well. Misty enjoys a good nap on the couch or in her little basket. She has a gorgeous shiny coat and doesn’t shed much. She never claws on furniture or carpet. Her family believes the ideal home for her is with a relatively quiet family, with a love for cats, where she can do her own thing.

Poncho
Poncho

**Senior Alert** Poncho is a 12 ½-year old chihuahua mix whose person recently passed away. Poncho was fed by family but was basically left alone for months. Thankfully, a kind neighbor/friend brought Poncho home. Poncho is a friendly little guy who loves naps and loves everyone … cats, dogs, and, of course, people. He would do best in a home with older children.

For more information about adopting or fostering Misty or Poncho, please contact [email protected] or call 631-306-4616. You can also visit their website at paws-li.org.

Laura
Laura

**Senior Alert** Laura is a beyond gorgeous 9-year-old, front declawed tabby with beautifully outlined eyes. She finds herself at the shelter because her owner is ill and can no longer care for her. Laura needs someone who will adopt her and help her sadness disappear. If that person is you, please call the shelter at 631-643-9270 today!

Lucy
Lucy

Little 11-13-month-old Lucy is such a gorgeous beauty! Lucy is very friendly and loving — think of her as a perpetual snuggler — so she is suited for all families who want a gentle buddy who truly wants to be with you and kissing and head butting you all day. She would make an ideal therapy cat as she makes everyone smile just by being her! Just a great family cat! petfinder.com

Who doesn’t want the cuddles and kisses of this handsome tabby, aka Willie?! Still just a big kitten at 18-months-old, Willie wants to be the love of your life. He is fully vetted — neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, etc … — and seems fine with children and likely comfortable with a gentle dog — not a cat fan, however. He just wants a lap to sit on or next to someone to call his very own family. petfinder.com

Franny and Tessi
Franny and Tessi

**Double Adoption** 10-month-olds Franny (Adoption #BF3274) and Tessi’s (Adoption #BF3275) successful stay in a nurturing foster home has set them up for happiness with forever family. All these shy sisters need is a quiet patient one with children 16 and older in age to ease them into their new setting. Treats and playtime help reinforce all the good things they’ve learned about humans. Tessi can’t resist a good cuddle with a trusted friend, especially when they’re offering her something yummy. Franny may seem shyer than her sister, but that just makes the moments of connection with her that much more delightful! You may not see how much love Tessi and Franny have to give when you first visit them, but patience will yield an incredible reward!

**Double Adoption** When Sam Hill (Adoption #H210919) arrived with his sister Sassafras (Adoption #H210920) this fall, he felt pretty great about his prospects for a safer life indoors. Sassafras, on the other hand, was not won over by her human companions. Sam is so devoted he offered all of his support and joined his sister in a wonderful foster home to help them relearn how to trust the humans who adore them. Now this adorable pair of 7-month-old kittens is looking for a cat-experienced, quiet home (with children 10 years old and older) to help reinforce all the good things they’ve learned from their foster mom. Sam Hill (black) is just about as purrfect as kittens go, and Sassafras (grey and white) watches his every move to gain confidence. If you’ve had experience nurturing the fear out of kittens, you’re exactly the hero Sassafras and Sam Hill are looking for!

Mimi
Mimi

**Senior Alert** Brave 11-year-old Mimi (Adoption #H210271) suffered a traumatic loss of home and family recently and came to North Shore Animal League America in need of a safe place to land. They were happy to offer her all the comfort she’s been missing; our search for a quiet family worthy of this sweet senior’s love is our top priority. You may find her tucked into her bed with bright eyes and a trepidatious spirit. Offering a gentle hand and some soft words of comfort is how your journey together will begin. Time and patience will yield a beautiful love story as you learn together how to navigate this new shared path. Give her treats, and she’ll offer you her belly in return.

Minnie and Mickey
Minnie and Mickey

**Double Adoption** Minnie (Adoption #BF3661) and Mickey (Adoption #BF3662) were fortunate to be discovered by a local rescue hero who fostered them before bringing them to Animal League America for their big chance at finding a permanent home. Their shyness had been a challenge, so we tucked them into a quiet space at Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center so we could help teach them to trust the humans who care for them. With lots of love, attention, treats, and toys, 11-month-old tabbies Minnie and Mickey have shown they’re ready to find a quiet home with older kids to settle into together. Minnie finds overcoming her apprehension as easy as receiving a treat from a trusted friend and returns the favor with a grateful head bump. Mickey stays close by, watching his sister and learning from her new-found courage. Mickey will be the first to explore his new surroundings, and with a little experience and patience, you’ll soon be on the receiving end of his gratitude as well. All Minnie and Mickey need to complete their journey is to start a new one with you in their first real home!

Felix

**Senior Alert** Friendly Felix (Adoption #E00550) wasn’t thrilled to lose his lifelong home recently, but with a little reassurance, he’s decided to look ahead at the opportunity to make new friends and find a place to retire, too. This sweet 10-year-old gentleman is always dressed for the occasion in his fancy tuxedo coat, and you may have to excuse him as he wanders off to explore new surroundings before coming back for that head rub you’re offering. Doesn’t he sound dreamy?

Greyson
Greyson

**Senior Alert** Look at this smile! Greyson is an 8-year-old fella known affectionately as the king of the castle! Sweet, loveable, and handsome! He was found by a volunteer in her colony but this boy is way too sweet to be outdoors and is just awesome!

Dreamy
Dreamy

Dreamy is a beautiful 2-year-old gal who was thrown outdoors when her owners got a dog. A good Samaritan brought her to the rescue in hopes she can find her true forever home.  She is super sweet, purrs, loves to be pet, and will do well in a home with no dogs.

For more information about adopting Greyson or Dreamy, contact Almost Home Animal Rescue at www.almosthomeli.org or call 631-627-3665.

Loghan
Loghan

Loghan is a 2-year-old sweetie who is a recent arrival, as of February 2021. He was brought in by police after being found wandering the streets alone. Loghan is playful, sweet, social, and loves a good ear massage and butt scratch. He is playful with dogs after a slow introduction! Staff and volunteers believe Loghan didn’t have the best start to life, but they know his future is looking bright. Loghan deserves the best, so let’s find that for him. Loghan is looking for an active family with kids 13 years and older.

If you can open your home to Sir Loghan, please call for more information at 516-785-5220 or email [email protected]
