Hicksville High School’s field was buzzing with school spirit as students, staff and the community came together to celebrate homecoming.
Prior to the start of the game, the school hosted its annual Homecoming Fair. Activities, games, spirit wear, gift basket raffles, food and refreshments were offered at various tables, which were operated by students, parents and school community organizations. Local children were also able to play on the inflatable slides and bouncy houses.
The celebration kicked off with a procession of the marching band, cheerleaders and Starlets kickline team, as well as the four classes who displayed banners with this year’s theme of movies. The junior class took home best-banner honor for their Spider-Man: Homecoming design.
Cheered on by the sounds of an excited crowd, the Hicksville Comets went head-to-head with the Uniondale High School Knights. The Comets team won the game with a final score of 35-14.
The halftime show featured spectacular performances from the marching band and color guard, cheerleaders and the Starlets, as well as the crowning of homecoming king Rohan Manjrekar and queen Bridget McDevitt.
