NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal visited UBS Arena, the metropolitan area’s most anticipated live entertainment venue and future home of the New York Islanders Hockey Club on Nov. 11, to formally announce that his Big Chicken brand will make its New York-area debut at the arena when it opens later this month on Nov. 20.
Shaq unveiled “The Islander,” a Big Chicken sandwich collaboration with Huntington-based Blue Line Deli & Bagel on a specialty sandwich for UBS Arena, one of Big Chicken’s UBS Arena’s offerings, in addition to Shaq’s own, “Uncle Jerome’s Chicken Sandwich.”
“The Islander” sandwich features a crispy chicken breast topped with Buffalo sauce, cream cheese, blue cheese and is served on toasted Blue Line Deli’s iconic blue-and-orange Islanders-inspired bagel.
“The Uncle Jerome Hot Chicken Sandwich”
The Unce Jerome Hot Chicken Sandwich is a specialty of Shaq’s Big Chicken brand. His all-natural hormone-free brined chicken breast is hand-breaded in signature seasoned flour and fried until golden brown. This crispy chicken is served on a toasted artisan brioche bun with mayo, Nashville Hot Sauce and bread and butter pickles.
Big Chicken food kiosk at UBS Arena will also feature Shaq’s MDE (Most Dominant Ever) Chicken Sandwich, seasoned French fries and Big Chicken Chicken Tenders.
