Now there’s pizza, and then there’s pizza. We’re not talking about pizza with just a few toppings thrown on, we’re talking about pizza with the works. But who makes the best specialty pizza on Long Island?

Long Islanders voted Grandpa Tony’s the Best Specialty Pizza on Long Island in the 2021 Bethpage Best of Long Island contest!

Have you ever heard of a Quatro Fromaggi? Mozzarella, provolone, pecorino Romano and fontina are the stars. It’s a specialty pizza at Grandpa Tony’s where even the most persnickety foodie will gloat helplessly if asked, “How is it?” The cozy, Italian eatery makes the best wood-fired pizza in town. Pies come out steaming hot and you can barely wait for the smoke to evaporate before biting into yours. The eatery’s namesake, Little Tony is a breeze with cheese you’ll want to devour. This one has roasted peppers cooked in the brick oven, sausage, tomato sauce, and fresh garlic with mozzarella. The 800-degree wood-fired oven produces the best well-done pizzas around.

Grandpa Tony’s is located at 101 Althouse Ave. in East Rockaway. It can be reached at 516-799-8669 or grandpatonysli.com
