Winfield Hall, a lavish Glen Cove estate that was featured in the Taylor Swift music video for her song “Blank Space” sold last week for $8,250,000.

A Long Islander with an affinity for historic homes purchased the house with intent to restore it, according to a spokesperson for Compass. The famous estate has also been featured in the HBO shows Boardwalk Empire and Mildred Pierce. It is also referred to as the Woolworth Estate because retail store mogul F.W. Woolworth had it built in 1915. It sits on a 16-acre property, where most of the 2014 Taylor Swift music video was filmed.

“The Woolworth Estate was on the market since August, and we had offers from people as far away as Australia,” says Margaret Trautmann at Compass. “It was vital to find a buyer who was committed to restoring the estate to its former glory.”

Trautmann has helped market other notable properties, such as a mansion at 17 Quail Hill Rd. in Lloyd Harbor, which was featured in the Showtime TV series Billions.

The regal mansion estate at 77 Crescent Beach Rd. in Glen Cove has both a 30,000 square-foot main house and 17,000 square-foot carriage house. Among many elaborate features, the main house includes a marble staircase, cathedral ceilings, a formal dining room, and a fireplace, with 12 bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Denise Carey Bettencourt, the daughter of Martin T. Carey, brother of the late New York governor Hugh Carey, previously owned the home.
