Edward Bonahue
Suffolk County Community College formally inaugurated Bonahue as its seventh president in April. The seasoned higher education executive was appointed in April 2021, and assumed leadership of SUNY’s largest community college on June 28, 2021 after a comprehensive, months-long, national search by the college’s board of trustees and a diverse search committee.
Jen Lapera
M&T Insurance Agency, Inc., the commercial insurance and risk management subsidiary of M&T Bank, has hired Lapera as a senior vice president and casualty leader for the company’s Real Estate & Construction practice. She will be responsible for managing casualty insurance placement, program design, and strategy.
Charles Riordan
Hofstra University appointed Riordan as its next provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. As vice president for research, scholarship and innovation at the University of Delaware, Riordan has responsibility for advancing its research enterprise, overseeing six university-wide research institutes, core facilities and the Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships.
Brittany Gaddy
Woodbury-based D&B Engineers and Architects, a firm specializing in water supply, wastewater management and environmental engineering, promoted Gaddy to an associate. She has over seven years of engineering experience in environmental design, remediation and investigation projects, environmental assessments and multimedia environmental compliance.
Daniel Root
D&B Engineers and Architects promoted Root to an associate. He is an environmental engineer with more than seven years of experience working on a variety of environmental design and investigation projects including preparation of contract documents for the design and construction of soil vapor mitigation systems, implementation of petroleum spill remediation and UST closure projects.
Mary Connolly
Connolly has joined the Uniondale-based law firm of Rivkin Radler LLC as an associate in the Health Services Practice Group. She has represented a wide variety of healthcare providers and trade associations, including adult homes, home care agencies, skilled nursing facilities, and developmental disability providers in litigation, regulatory, compliance, and reimbursement matters.
Carl J. Schmidlapp
In his new role as an associate with D&B Engineers and Architects, Schmidlapp focuses on the growth of the company’s Drone Division. He has more than nine years of experience working on a variety of environmental projects including implementation of site characterization, environmental assessments, investigations and remediation projects for brownfield and petroleum contaminated sites as well as in multimedia environmental compliance.
Lauren Russo
Russo has joined Rivkin Radler as an associate in the Complex Torts & Product Liability Practice Group. She has handled matters involving the defense of church and charitable institutions, health care and nursing liability, and the defense of medical malpractice matters.
