Pebbles, a toy fox terrier born on Long Island who the Guinness World Records ranked as the oldest living dog, died of natural causes Monday. She was 22.

Born on March 28, 2000, the 4-pound pup who loved to play and run moved with her family to Taylor, South Carolina in 2007. She was certified as the world’s oldest living dog on May 17, 2022.

“It has been said she has given us more than we have ever given her, and no statement could be truer,” Pebbles’ family said in a statement. “She impacted everyone she encountered. Pebbles was not just another dog; she had her own ways about her and her own personality. She was a once in a lifetime companion.”

Pebbles enjoyed country music, trying new foods, being pampered, and making everyone fall in love with her, according to her family. She was surrounded by her family when she passed.

Pebbles is predeceased by her partner Rocky, who died in 2016. She is survived by the 32 puppies she gave birth to throughout her life.
