Haunted House of Hamburgers to Open Oct. 25

A brand-new, Halloween-themed restaurant on Long Island will open almost a week before the spooky holiday this year – and stay open all year round.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Farmingdale will welcome Haunted House of Hamburgers to Fulton Street. The eatery’s slogan is “Everyday is Halloween,” and owner Jordan Desner invites guests to make it their year round Halloween destination – costumes encouraged.

“We’re going to have it all,” Desner said. “All the names [of menu items] are going to be themed out with haunted names.”

Haunted House of Hamburgers’ menu includes “boo breakfast,” “horror-Q,” “undead desserts,” and witches brew and crypt keeper cocktails, as well as American eats for lunch and dinner. The 3,000 square-foot restaurant has more than 80 tables and will be available to host events, according to its website.

The new restaurant was first announced in the spring and the transformation of the building at 332 Fulton St., the former location of Friendly’s, which closed in 2015, has been ongoing ever since.

According to the establishment, it will be the first Halloween-themed restaurant on Long Island. Other Halloween-themed restaurants and bars have had pop-up stints in the month of October but never stayed open year round.

One such pop-up is the WitchCraft Halloween Pop Up bar on Main Street in Farmingdale, which is inspired by the fan-favorite Disney film Hocus Pocus. Reservations for the themed dining experience are sold out for the season, making Haunted House of Hamburgers a good nearby option for those craving a festive bite to eat around Halloween.
