Temple Judea in Manhasset presented the dedication of the Irving Roth Holocaust Resource Center on Nov. 6, renaming the center in honor of the Holocaust survivor and former director who died last year.

The dedication ceremony included a musical program and memories and remarks shared by Roth’s friends and students. It was followed by an open house and refreshments. Roth was the center’s beloved director, as well as a well-regarded Holocaust educator across Long Island. He died in February 2021 at the age of 91.

The Irving Roth Holocaust Resource Center’s main mission is to educate the youth and general public about the horrors of the Holocaust and what led to the genocide. It offers lectures from historians, testimony from Holocaust survivors, workshops, art and historical exhibits, teacher trainings, and more.
