Community turns out for the Tribute and Honor Foundation’s Third Annual Awards Ceremony
On Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, the Tribute and Honor Foundation presented its Third Annual Phonix Rising Awards to a packed house. The awards ceremony and gala serve as a beacon of recognition for veterans and their steadfast supporters from across Long Island.
The evening included eight prestigious awards, each shining a spotlight on exemplary individuals and organizations. Notable accolades included the Legacy Award, bestowed upon Anthony Anzalone, the Leadership Award, presented to Luke Whitting, and the Community Service Award, honored to Chad Ryals. Other distinguished recipients included Dave Christie, who received the Volunteer Award, and Derek Valance, who was presented with the Impact Award. Lisa and Wayne Cohen were honored with the Homefront Award, while Honor Flight Long Island secured the Front Runner Award. Finally, Operation VEST’s Stefan and Jenny Hespeler were recipients of the Awareness and Remembrance Award.
Mayor Pam Panzenbeck, alongside Korean War Veteran Ben Farnan, warmly welcomed guests at the event. Following the ceremony, Mayor Panzenbeck commented, “Witnessing the community come together for this event was truly heartwarming. Congratulations to the Tribute and Honor Foundation Board and everyone involved. Our veterans deserve all the support we can offer. It was a privilege to be a part of this celebration.”
