The Iranian New Year (Nowruz) will be celebrated at the Great Neck Library. The event will feature Katayoun Moosazadeh (Vocals), Shahriar Koroori (Daf), Hedayat Shafiee (Tar), Parisa Karimi (Kamancheh), Arieh Aghajani (Santoor), and Hamidreza Maleki (Barbat). Shahruz Shahery of SHAI, the Sephardic Heritage Alliance Inc., will moderate the event.
Founded in 1992, SHAI has been dedicated to supporting Persian Jewish families and individuals in preserving their proud three-millennial cultural heritage, obtaining education, and embracing positive acculturation in the United States.
SHAI partners with local institutions, such as schools, synagogues, libraries, park districts, and the Town of North Hempstead, to educate and support the community and engages Persian Jews of all ages in multiple youth, young families, young professionals, star singles, and seniors events.
