The Great Neck Library will be hosting a musical performance titled “Doo-Wop and Acapella by The Traditions.”

The concert will be at the Parkville Library Programming Room, 10 Campbell St., New Hyde Park, on Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m.

The Traditions were formed in 1983 and have performed for hundreds of vocal group harmony enthusiasts at major venues throughout the tri-state area, including the Westbury Music Fair, the Continental/Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands, the Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, the Plaza Hotel, the Copacabana and Carnegie Hall.

They have also been active in the media, appearing on numerous radio and television programs, such as Don K. Reed’s Doo-Wop Shop (WCBS-FM), Mickey B’s Juke Box Revue (WGBB-AM), the Dennis Falcone Show (B-103-FM), the Art Lauria Show (WLNY-TV55), and News12 Long Island.

The Traditions’ repertoire of over 50 songs includes such all-time favorites as “Teardrops,” “It’s All In The Game,” “(I’m On The) Outside Looking In,” “Gee,” “Wonderful Wonderful.” “Misty,” “In The Still Of The Night,” “Hello Stranger,” “Daddy’s Home,” “Have You Heard” and “Long, Long And Lonely Nights.”

Registration is required. Great Neck cardholders and residents can register online, in-person, or via phone. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, as space allows.
