Democratic and Republican party nominees won their spot on November ballots in five Long Island congressional primary races Tuesday.

Several county legislators running for higher office were caught up in a heated back-and-forth days after Democrats and Republicans vowed to join forced to pass a property tax refund bill.

“This is all about building trust with the community,” Acting Nassau County Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter told legislators.

"Let's make this very clear and very concise, Legislator Birnbaum is banned from the minority caucus and the Democratic caucus."

“It is the duty of the legislature to provide access to its own records.”

"The revenue resulting from these cameras will help offset the short-term costs associated with these labor agreements.”

“There is the possibility of a primary contest."

"I will be forever grateful to the people who have offered prayers and best wishes."

"I'm running because we need more independent problem solvers in Congress."

Nassau taxpayers have unknowingly been paying millions of dollars as a consequence of lax oversight, mismanagement, neglect and/or willful ignorance.
