Former Mets World Series champion Lenny Dykstra can thank his longtime friend, Charlie Sheen, for paying $22,000 to bail him out of jail.
TMZ reported that Dykstra was in jail for nearly a week, but was bailed out by Sheen, who paid 15 percent of Dykstra’s $150,000 bail.
Dykstra was a three-time All-Star and a member of the Mets 1986 World Series team.
He was arrested a day after he was charged with embezzling from a bankruptcy estate. Dykstra allegedly embezzled $400,000 from his estate. TMZ previously reported that Dykstra filed for bankruptcy in 2009.
Once CBS cancelled “Two and a Half Men,” TMZ reported that Dykstra attempted to hire a lawyer to negotiate Sheen’s return to the show.
To add to the fire, in January, Dykstra’s house keeper accused him of forcing her to do sexual favors for him. He denied it and no charges would be filed by Los Angeles County prosecutors.
