Picture 113Chaz Bono was eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” last night.

After the sixth performance, where the couple performed the tango, the two were axed.

Bono and partner, Lacey Schwimmer were deemed the underdogs of the season and have been hanging on by a thread each episode.

Following the second elimination, where Bono and partner received one of the lowest scores for their performance, 18, shocked everyone when they were saved.

“I wish I could thank each & every one of you personally for your votes. YOU are the reason @LaceySchwimmer & I ARE DANCING AGAIN next week!!” he tweeted.

Tuesday, Bono was bittersweet about leaving the celebrity dancing competition but his partner, not so much. According to the Huffington Post, Schwimmer cried backstage during Monday’s episode and complained about the judges’ “rude” remarks about Bono.

After their tango, one judge referred to Bono as “a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey,” which upset Schwimmer .

“Every week he gets referred to as an animal,” she said. “They always comment on his personality, and last I checked, this was a dancing show.”

Tuesday night’s elimination marks the sixth elimination from the Fall 2011 season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Previously, Kristin Cavallari, Carson Kressley, Elisabetta Canalis and Metta World Peace also known as Ron Artest were sent packing.

Remaining celebrity dancers include Hope Solo, David Arquette, Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake, J.R. Martinez and Rob Kardashian.

Chaz Bono, the son of Sonny and Cher, although clearly not the best dancer, has been a fan favorite.

Back in May, Chastity Bono became Chaz Bono, a year after undergoing a sex change, Bono was considered a man by law and a California judge granted him a gender and name change.

“It’s hard for me to articulate how this feels—when you’ve lived your whole life in a body and having everybody relate to you as something you don’t feel,” Bono told People in December. “When that finally gets righted, it’s just amazing. I finally get to live my life the way I’ve always wanted to.”
