The Heart Attack Grill satisfies another customer.
It’s best known for serving artery clogged specialties and that’s exactly what one customer got: a heart attack.
While dining at the unhealthy Las Vegas restaurant on Saturday, a woman collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital.
She is the second person to need medical attention after eating at the Heart Attack Grill within the last few months.
Though owner Jon Basso hopes the woman gets well soon, he explains that the woman got just what she came to the Heart Attack Grill for: coming close to death.
“We attract an avant-garde clientele — thrill seekers, risk takers,” he explained to the Los Angeles Times, adding that his restaurant is a “bad for you but fun” restaurant that “attracts people who don’t really take good care of their health.”
The woman’s current vitals are unknown, but she was rushed out of the restaurant by paramedics after falling unconscious. Before the woman was wheeled out of the restaurant by medics, she was chugging a margarita and puffing on a cigarette.
“She was eating, drinking, smoking, laughing, dancing, having fun,” Basso told the LA Times about the restaurant-goer. “But when you treat your body like that day in and day out, eventually your body is going to give out.”
Waitresses at the Heart Attack Grill must wear skimpy skin-tight nurse uniforms while Brasso dresses up as the head cardiologist. The diners are called patients and they can order items from the menu that have “flatline” and “bypass” in the description.
The Quadruple Bypass Burger has 10,000 calories. According to Basso, the Guinness World Records book recently contacted him saying they wanted to make the burger the most caloric sandwich on Earth.
Let’s not forget that people who weigh more than 350 pounds are offered free food. That’s right. If you weigh 350 pounds or more you can get a free meal at the Heart Attack Grill. That seems like giving free booze to an alcoholic to us.
