Hakeem Nicks ended last season on a high note, helping the Giants take out the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl for the second time in four years.

But now Nicks is faced with another kind of obstacle as the team prepares to defend its Super Bowl title: healing a broken foot.

The Giants explosive receiver broke his right foot during an organized team activity on Thursday, and he is expected to be sidelined for three months.

Nicks fractured the fifth metatarsal in his foot while running a route early in the practice session, the team said on its website. The Super Bowl champs were running drills in the Timex Performance Center field.

The wide receiver is slated to have surgery Friday. He will have a screw inserted into the broken bone, according to reports. It’s estimated that it will take Nicks 12 weeks to recover from the injury.

Big Blue has already lost receiver Mario Manningham, who signed with the San Francisco 49ers during free agency.

But the Giants do have some depth at the position. Receive/salsa expert Victor Cruz is still around and Domenik Hixon will be back with the team after missing last season with a knee injury.

The Giants report to training camp in Albany on July 26.

In his first three years in the league, Nicks already has 200-plus receptions and 3,034 yards receiving.

In 15 games last season, the agile receiver caught 76 passes for 1,192 yards.

He also came up huge in the playoffs, grabbing 28 passes for 144 yards in four games.

In the Giants 21-17 victory in the Super Bowl against the Patriots, Nicks had 10 receptions for 109 yards.
