Suffolk Cops Probe 3 Home Invasions in 8 Days

Suffolk County police are investigating three armed home invasions in an eight-day span, including two in which victims were assaulted and one that ended in an arrest, authorities said.

In the first case, three men armed with at least one gun forced their way through the front door of a Revilo Avenue home in Shirley, where they stole jewelry and phones and assaulted a victim at 6:28 p.m. Sunday, March 13, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment after the suspects fled on foot, police said.

The next day, at 11:40 a.m. Monday, March 14, a suspect broke into an Oakcrest Avenue home in Middle Island, flashed a handgun and pistol-whipped two victims, but it’s unclear if anything was stolen, police said. An hour later, police arrested 34-year-old John Graziano and charged him with first-degree burglary. He is due back in court March 31 after a judge set his bail at $30,000 bond or $15,000 cash.

In the most recent case, two men forced their way into an Ontario Street home in Terryville at 2:49 p.m. Monday, March 21, flashed a switchblade and stole money as well as medication, police said. No injuries were reported in that case.

No arrests were made nor were any descriptions available in the two unsolved cases. Detectives are continuing the investigations.
