The Lions of District 20-K2 Nassau County and Bermuda will be distributing snacks to 1,800 healthcare at nine hospitals on Long Island next month to say thank you for their efforts battling the coronavirus pandemic.

The Lions will be donating muffins, healthy snacks, and electrolyte waters for healthcare workers during the weeks of May 5 and May 18, the group said. The group thanked Bellmore Beverage for its partnership in the Lions’ efforts.

The project was funded by Lions Clubs International Foundation, the charitable arms of the century-old Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization with 1.4 million members in about 48,000 clubs.

The foundation awards grant funding for large-scale humanitarious projects around the world. It has awarded 121 grants worldwide totaling more than 2.6 million for COVID-19 front line relief.
