Long Island Halloween Parties 2014

Halloween!

This year, Halloween falls on a Friday, which means that the trick-or-treating will inevitably turn into a weekend-long celebration, complete with costume contests, dance parties and horror movie screenings across Long Island. We compiled more than two dozen such events scheduled for Thursday though Sunday:

Halloween Burlesque Extravaganza
Coney Island Burlesque revive a spooky version of the “girlie revues” of south Brooklyn following the 7 p.m. Edgar Allen Poe parade through downtown Riverhead that comes at the end of the first day of a festival dedicated to the famed author of The Raven. Halloween: The Movie
A screening of the 1978 classic slasher flick that launched the movie series and unleashed the terrifying image of a masked, machete-wielding Michael Meyers into our collective nightmares. Brody Jenner

Mastodon
