Forbes announced their list of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, and the results probably won’t surprise you.
Angelina Jolie and “Sex and the City” star, Sarah Jessica Parker, tied for tops on the list of the highest-paid females in the business.
Both celebs raked in an estimated $30 million between May 2010 and May 2011—with Parker still bringing in money from the popular HBO series “Sex and the City.”
The magazine credited Jolie for her wok in various genres of films, as well as directing. Along with her work as an actress in drama and actions flicks, Jolie also wrote and directed the upcoming film “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” according to Forbes.
Jolie is also a hit overseas as evidence from her latest film “The Tourist”—which brought in $210 million overseas, and only $67 million at home.
As for Parker, she is still making most of her money from reruns of “Sex and the City,” according to Forbes. The show was such a hit that the creators brought the series to the big screen with the first film bringing in $415 million worldwide. “Sex and the City 2”—released in May 2010—earned $288 million worldwide.
Here’s what Forbes said about Parker:
True to the values of Carrie Bradshaw, Parker has become a beauty icon. She makes money from her successful line of perfumes including Lovely, Covet and NYC, which brought in $18 million in 2010, and she recently started helping design clothes for the fashion line Halston.
The Top 10 celebs on the list earned a total of $218 million between May 2010 and May 2011, according to Forbes. In order to estimate the amount of cash these actresses brought in, Forbes talked to agents, lawyers, producers, and others in the industry to come up with an estimate.
Coming in behind Jolie and Parker was Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who both earned $28 million.
Fifth and sixth on the list was Julia Roberts and “Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart, both earning $20 million.
Rounding out the rest of the list was Katherine Heigl ($19 million), Cameron Diaz ($18 million), Sandra Bullock ($15 million) and Meryl Streep ($10 million).
