Beyonce has just debuted her newest music video for the single “Best Thing I Never Had.”
The song follows “Run the World (Girls).” The new single comes from her new album “4,” her fourth solo album. The album debuted last week at #1.
The video opens up with Beyonce in white lacy lingerie. She sings into the camera as if she is directing her message to someone watching, “There was a time I thought that you did everything right/ No lies, no wrong/ Boy, I must’ve been out of my mind.”
In the following scenes she is seen in a wedding dress walking down the aisle. Then the flashback, the video cuts to her at a prom with another man. The man ignores her, which causes young Beyonce to leave with a broken heart. Ultimately, it’s the man who is left with the real loss as in his final scene, he wears a prom king crown looking very lonely with no queen “B” beside him.
“I wanted you bad/ I’m so through with that/ ‘Cause, honestly, you turned out to be the best thing I never had/ You turned out to be the best thing I never had/ And I’m gon’ always be the best thing you never had/ Oh yeah, I bet it sucks to be you right now,” sings Beyonce in the new music video. She goes on, “You don’t deserve my tears/ I guess that’s why they ain’t there.”
In the final scenes of the music video, Beyonce joins her husband and dances with her friends and family at her wedding, and we assume she lives happily ever after.
