Kelly Clarkson Celebrates 30th Birthday! (Video)

Happy Birthday to 30-year-old Kelly Clarkson!

The pop star rose to stardum after appearing on the first season of “American Idol.” She was the winner of the 2002 television show and her first album “Thankful” launched her pop career.

In 2004 Clarkson began to develop her style when she released her sophomore album, “Breakaway.” Many of the songs featured rock influences like in the her hit “Because of You.”

Kelly has now released five albums, the latest which features her newest hit.

Though “American Idol” has continued to be successful year after year, no winner has been as successful as Clarkson.

Among other awards, Clarkson has one two Grammys and twelve Billboard awards.

Turning 30 isn’t the only thing Clarkson has to celebrate. Her single “Stronger” remains in the top spot on USA Today Hot List and she also released a country cover of her single “Mr. Know It All.” It’s already in the top 40 list.

The singer is also making plans to tour the country this Summer, hitting the road so all her fans can experience a live performance from their favorite pop superstar, reports The Christian Post. As of now, Clarkson is planning on doing the tour with the band, “The Fray.” The tour is expected to being on July 21 in Washington. Kelly will be doing a total of 30 concert dates, with her final show being in Nashville, September 15. The tour will be featuring her “Stronger” album which has went certified gold.

“American Idol” was not the only time Clarkson appeared on a reality television show. She also briefly appeared on “The Voice” as a contestant coach.

In addition to doing her tour this Summer, Kelly is planning on appearing on the new ABC show, “Duets,” where she will be singing with Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke and Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles. She will be a mentor and singing partner on the show, as reported by The Christian Post.
