Hempstead Man Shot Dead

A 24-year-old man was shot and killed in his hometown of Hempstead over the weekend, according to Nassau County police, who are now searching for the killer.

Officers responded to a call of a disturbance involving a group of people on Linden Place and upon arrival they found Blair Kearse suffering from gunshot wounds shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Kearse was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he later died.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
