Team Storm Wins Baseball AAA Division Championship

Team Storm, sponsored by 1-800-flowers.com, beat the Bee’s in the Oyster Bay Baseball AAA Division championship game winning 1-0. The AAA division is made up of third- and fourth-grade players from the Oyster Bay-East Norwich area with players from all the local schools.

Matthew Yerkes started for the Storm and struck out all nine batters he faced. Sean Lane pitched the second half of the game for the Storm striking out seven of the nine batters he faced and gave up only one hit in the game.

The game opened up in the third inning with Kyle McGee, Sean Lane and Yianni Leandrou getting walked and a single by Preston Rosh allowing Yianni Leandrou to cross the plate with the only run of the game.
