District 32 Champs

The Hicksville Baseball Association 10-year-old Williamsport boys are New York State District 32 Champions. It was a tough road to the championship. The boys started out the Williamsport Tournament with a tough 4-3 win over East Meadow. Nick Iannuzzo had the big hit in this one, a two out single that drove in 2 and gave Hicksville the lead for good. Billy Sullivan was strong on the mound going 4 and 1/3 innings for the win. Jordan Ramlogan came in with ice in his veins and shut East Meadow for the save, leaving the tying run on third with a huge strike out to end the game.

Game 2 was an offensive explosion over Syosset 9-1 Led by Ryan Casper who was 4-4 with 1 single, 2 doubles, a triple, and he also stole home. Jordan Ramlogan continued his great pitching going 5 strong innings for the win.

Billy Sullivan came back in Game 3 and shut down a strong Bethpage team 5-1. Jack Fama, Sean Baker, and Ryan Casper lead the way offensively, and Jeromy Poveda made a huge catch to help out defensively. The boys got beat in game 4, 8-2 by Bethpage.

With there backs against the wall in game 5 Hicksville came out strong. Once again riding the bats of Fama, Casper, and Baker, Hicksville became champions. Jack Fama pitched into the 6th inning, that’s when Bethpage made it 10-8 and loaded the bases with 2 outs.

Hicksville called on Nicky “Flash” Diano who got the final out and the celebration began. Johnny “Backstop” Fisher had a tremendous tournament behind the plate, and Jeromy Poveda played a great 3rd base making some very difficult plays.
