With great food and friends, participants in the Mount Saint Mary College chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) had much to be thankful for.
The college’s food service provider, Sodexo, recently served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings for 16 “Littles” and 27 “Bigs,” including Rose Linehan of New Hyde Park.
“Our club wanted to give the ‘Littles’ a Thanksgiving celebration that they would remember,” explained president Kailyn Zanella. “We had a wonderful time saying thanks and breaking bread with one another.”
The children will be spending Thanksgiving with their families, but the dinner gave them a chance to enjoy the holiday with their BBBS family as well. Through six get-togethers over the semester, the “Littles” form a lasting bond with their Mount “Bigs,” explained Zanella.
