Glen Cove Man Found Guilty of Killing Friend

A Glen Cove man was convicted Thursday of brutally killing his 56-year-old friend and then pawning the victim’s bloody jewelry in Suffolk County two years ago.

A Nassau County jury found Edward Brown guilty of second-degree murder, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Prosecutors said the 47-year-old man beat the victim in the head with a weapon on Dec. 21, 2012. The victim, Nunzio Izzo, was found under a tarp near Brown’s home.

Brown faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced July 16 before Nassau County Court Judge Alan Honorof.
