Science teacher wins STANYS Award
Garden City High School science teacher Kathy Dubuke was awarded Nassau STANYS Outstanding Teacher Award for her significant contributions in the area of science education, including her efforts to inspire students’ interest in science and her active participation in science professional organizations. STANYS is New York’s oldest professional organization of science educators. Also honored at the dinner was high school senior Michael Cassano. He received a plaque for his outstanding interest and achievement in science research. The awards dinner took place last month at Baldwin’s Coral House.
