Schreiber 1964 Class Reunion

SchreiberGraduation_062813Schreiber High School Class of 1964 will celebrate its 50th reunion on the weekend of September 12 – 14, 2014 in Port Washington.  The Reunion Gala is planned for Saturday evening, September 13 at the Port Washington Yacht Club.

Other reunion weekend events include informal gatherings at local restaurants, a golf outing, tours of local sites and a Schreiber home football game.  A committee of classmates from around the country has been working on the reunion.  Some 60 classmates have already indicated they will attend the Gala and weekend festivities.

“Our high school class had more than 350 members, some of whom have stayed in Port Washington and on Long Island, and others who live across the country, “ commented Amy Bass of Port Washington, reunion co-chair.  “We’re looking forward to re-connecting with our classmates over the reunion weekend and to catching up and learning about the career and personal paths they have taken. “

The Schreiber Class of ‘64 Reunion Committee has members from California, Massachusetts, Florida and Port Washington.   Local Port Washington businessman Fred Falconer, who is the reunion treasurer, states:  “We encourage our classmates to contact us and mark the September 13th gala date on their calendar.  We want a big crowd at the gala!  As the saying goes, the more, the merrier.”

The golf outing will take place on Friday, September 12 at Harbor Links and is being organized by reunion golf chair,  local businessman Bill Zaremba.  He encourages golfers of all abilities to come out and play.  “Harbor Links is a great course, and I know our classmates will enjoy playing there, “ he comments.

While they grew up in Port Washington, Amy, Fred and Bill attended different elementary schools and different junior highs but united as a class when they entered Schreiber.  The three classmates join together in saying, “Schreiber Class of ‘64 classmates and friends, come and celebrate our class, our memories and the Schreiber-Port Washington experience with us!  The more classmates who participate, the more successful our reunion will be. ”

Classmates who plan to attend or have questions about the reunion weekend or who want to volunteer should contact Amy Bass at 944 – 9472  or Fred Falconer at 767 – 0925.
