Holbrook Woman Drowns in Backyard Pool

A 50-year-old woman drowned in the backyard pool at her Holbrook home on Saturday night.

Suffolk County police said officers responded to a 911 call of a woman found unresponsive in a pool on Railroad Avenue and upon arrival, they found Karen Gabrielsen unconscious and not breathing at 9:33 p.m.

The victim was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead.

Fifth Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with any information to contact them at 631-854-8552.
