The Hicksville Board of Education will hold a committee meeting at 7 p.m. in the administration building.

Social and Ballroom Dancing

The Society Tempo Ballroom Club holds dances every Friday afternoon at Kismet Shriners, 18 W. Nicholai St in Hicksville. Enjoy a group lesson, followed by social dance time. HHS Class of 1954 Reunion

The Hicksville High School Class of 1954 will hold their 50th reunion at the Holiday Inn in Plainview. It costs $100 per person, which includes a buffet dinner on the 13th and meet and greet. Contact John Maniec at  at john@johnmaniec.com or 917-750-7842 for more information.

Homecoming

Hicksville High School’s homecoming fair runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The parade, featuring the marching band, kickline, color guard and cheerleaders will start in the high school courtyard at approximately 12:45 p.m., followed by a football game against MacArthur High School at 1:30 p.m.  All are invited to enjoy games, raffles, rides and food and to cheer on the Comets.

Cruizin’ For A Cure Car Show

The Cruizin For a Cure Car Show returns to the Sears Auto Center, 195 N. Broadway in Hicksville from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come see custom and classic cars, trucks and more. There will be free PSA tests for early detection of prostate cancer provided by Winthrop Hospital as well as a kids fun zone, food and vendors. $5, kids under 12 are free. Community Block Party

Hicksville United Methodist Church will be having a block party for the neighborhood. There will be food, fellowship and lots of fun. From noon to 3 p.m. at the HIcksville United Methodist Church parking lot, 130 W. Old Country Road and Division Ave.

Technology Fair

The Town of Oyster Bay and the EAC Network are hosting a free technology fair for seniors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the William P. Bennett Hicksville Community Center, 28 W. Carl Street in Hicksville, off 107 (Broadway) and Old Country Road. Bike Safety Rodeo

Parkway Community Church will be hosting a free bike safety rodeo program for kids in kindergarten through junior high. The event is sponsored by the New York Coalition for Transportation Safety. All participants must bring their bike and be accompanied by an adult.  Free helmets and reflecterized vests will be distributed. Registration is necessary. Garage Sale

The Women’s Mission League will be holding a garage sale at 33 Winding Road in Hicksville. There will be knick knacks, jewelry and assorted treasures. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; rain or shine.

Car Show and Cookoff

Hicksville Fire Department Hose Company 4 will host a car show and cook off at Cantiague Park from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. $5 spectators, children under 12 free, $20 show vehicles. Enjoy raffles, prizes, food and refreshments. For more information visit www.nyautofest.com
