Line Dancing
Last Hope Animal Rescue hosts a line dancing event at Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Parkway in Hicksville. Trinity Lutheran Church will be holding a movie night featuring God’s Not Dead, a film about faith and the limits one young man will go to in order to defend his belief in God. Night in the Tropics
Holy Trinity Episcopal Church holds a Night in the Tropics. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from the church office by Nov. 19. There will be live music from Jimmy Buffet tribute band, Dave and the Waverunners, a catered dinner and raffles and prizes. The event takes place at 130 Jerusalem Ave. in Hicksville at 7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds goes to community outreach and donations of nonperishable or canned food for the St. Ignatius Food Bank will be collected. Historical Society Meeting
Remember the days of dining at the place with the orange roof? Seemed to be one at almost every corner. Now, they are just a memory.Come to the Hicksville Historical Society meeting for a look into Howard Johnson’s restaurant. Our guest will be Bob Schroter, who used to work at two different Hojo’s, and president Bob Koenig will bring along some pop culture collectables from the famed eatery.
