Farmingdale Runners Score At 22nd Rob’s Run

The weather for this year’s 22nd annual edition of New York Blood Services Rob’s Run was nearly perfect for a late fall cross country race, and the net result was a bunch of pretty impressive performances—and lots of enthusiasm—on the part of a record-breaking 702 finishers who completed the 5 kilometer course in and around Stillwell Woods in Woodbury on Sunday morning, Nov. 30.

Two athletes from Farmingdale were especially prominent in this year’s edition of Rob’s Run.

Chris Daily was the second finisher in the 55-59 age group, crossing the finish line in 19 minutes, 7 seconds. Jen Dagan was the third woman finisher overall with a time of 19 minutes, 17 seconds.

Thanks go to New York Blood Services for its sponsorship of the Run once again. Thanks also go to the Center for Developmental Disabilities and the Center’s wonderful Executive

Director Nick Boba and  Director of Development Debbie Patey for lending the use of the facilities at the Center for race headquarters, to leading Syosset realtor Daniel Gale Sotheby and S&S Automotive Center of Syosset, the supporting sponsors of this year’s Run in support of The Center. We also thank Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto and the

Department of Parks and Recreation for their support, and for all the enthusiastic volunteers from the Greater Long Island Running Club for ensuring the success of the event. Special congratulations go to Sue Fitzpatrick and Jim Murray, co-directors of Rob’s Run, for another job well done.
