Mineola resident Donald Peterson and Santina Onorio of Glen Oaks have been nominated for the KJOY radio contest “Wedding of a Lifetime.”
“I am asking friends, family and strangers to please take a few minutes and register on KJOY.COM to vote to help make this dream come true,” Onorio said.
Each person can vote one time each day. Voting began on Friday, March 27. The top three couples with the most votes will be in the final running for the wedding the week of April 13.
There is no age limit or requirement for the voters online. All participants in the contest must be in the K-98.3 listening area of Nassau County, Western Suffolk County, Queens, Brooklyn and the Metropolitan area.
Donald and Santina were engaged on the beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico on Jan. 28. The two grew up in Elmont and met back in seventh grade while attending Alva T. Stanforth Jr. High School and Sewanhaka High School.
Thirty years later, the two began dating, fell in love, are getting married and could not be happier.
