The Sousa team won a silver medal.

Elementary school students from Daly, Manorhaven, Salem, and Sousa participated in the fourth annual Dancing Classrooms Long Island “Colors of the Rainbow Team Match & Festival,” a team-based ballroom dance competition open to schools across Long Island.

Fourth and fifth graders from 10 elementary school teams in Nassau and Suffolk Counties competed at the event, held at Sachem North High School in Lake Ronkonkoma on Sunday, April 26.

The competition paid tribute to the invaluable life lessons the children acquired through Dancing Classrooms’ ten-week, twenty-lesson in-school residency program.

Joel Rodriguez served as emcee, and the judges were Scot Patrick Allan, Martin Rebello, Kathrine Scotto and Micki Williams. The teams from Daly and Salem won gold medals and the teams from Manorhaven and Sousa won silver medals in the competition.
