Gift and Give Back

In search of a unique Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation
or Teacher’s gift? During the month of May, shop at wit & whim of
Port Washington, an eclectic gift store carrying vintage, contemporary, Americana and global fair trade gift items. Each month, wit & whim chooses a charity to donate 100 percent of profits to and in May, Manhasset CASA will be the beneficiary.
Wit & whim will host a reception for Manhasset CASA on Tuesday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to kick off the promotion. All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Shop owner Laurie Scheinman stated, “The need for organizations like Manhasset CASA is increasingly important due to the struggles kids and young adults face every day with drugs and alcohol.”
Since 2001, Manhasset CASA has existed in the Manhasset community as a resource to reduce the illegal, underage use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs among young people. CASA strives to reach youth before they get into trouble by connecting parents, school, community and youth as partners in this common goal.
Wit & whim is located at 6 Carlton Ave. in Port Washington. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
