Lutheran Honors For Syosset Residents

Elizabeth Anez receives her Primus Award for Student Life from LuHi Principal Denis Scannell.

Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School recognized the achievements of its outstanding students at its annual honors banquet held on June 15 at the Fox Hollow Caterers in Woodbury. Among those honored were Syosset residents Elizabeth Anez and Noah Goodman.

Anez and Goodman received a National Honor Society awards at the banquet. Membership in the LuHi Chapter of the National Honor Society is granted to those students who have been highly rated by faculty members in the areas of character, leadership and service and who have an 85 or better cumulative average throughout their high school career. In addition, Goodman received a Star Honor Roll award which is presented to seniors who maintain a 90 percent or higher grade point average throughout every quarter of their high school careers. He will be attending Cornell University in the fall.

In addition, Anez received the Campus Ministry award honoring her commitment and participation in chapel and school service projects and a Primus Award for Student Life. This award recognizes her high standards of values and citizenship, and her ability to serve as a positive role model for her peers. Anez will be attending Gordon College in the fall.
