Hicksville Woman Fatally Hit by Car

A 60-year-old woman was fatally hit by a car while crossing a street in her hometown of Hicksville on Friday evening.

Nassau County police said the pedestrian was struck by a northbound Honda Civic while walking across North Broadway near the corner of Nevada Street at 5:40 p.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her name wasn’t immediately released.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation, but don’t expect to charge the driver.
