Temple Beth Israel Library Committee and Sandsport Shoshana Hadassah are hosting a 77th anniversary commemoration of Kristallnacht on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
In 1942, a courageous and selfless Polish couple, with five children of their own, took the risk of hiding Leon Gersten and four members of his family in their attic. Come and hear Dr. Gersten recount his story, and watch a video of his emotional reunion with Czeslaw Polziec, the son of this remarkable family.
Chloe Margulis, a student at LIU Post and Schreiber High School graduate, will perform her original composition “Remember,” dedicated to all the children who perished in the Holocaust.
