The Plandome Fire Department and Fireman Matt visited Gan Shalom of The Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore in Plandome. Fireman Matt discussed what to do if the fire alarm in your house goes off during the night with the 3- and 4-year-old classes.
This is what the children learned to do if the fire alarm goes off:
• Close their bedroom door.
• Stay low and crawl to the area next to their window.
• Call out “Here I am” to the fireman, their mom or dad or other adults.
After climbing on the real firetruck, the children drew pictures of firetrucks.
