Come and join together for the 18th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting to be held this year on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 4:30 p.m. at the Blumenfeld Park at the Landmark on Main Street.

A large turnout from the community is expected to enjoy the choral music, live nativity scene and pageant. Enjoy complimentary hot drinks and refreshments. Ornaments will be available for decorating and placing on the tree.

The pageant begins at 4:30 p.m., with a live nativity and a narration of the Christmas story. Following the lighting of the tree, there will be a performance by dancers from Danceworks. The pageant concludes around 5:30 p.m. with the arrival of Santa, who has a gift for each girl and boy. Wear warm clothing and something red, if you have it.

This joyous occasion has been organized for the past 18 years by The Christmas Tree Lighting Committee made up of Port Washington residents and business owners. The committee is self-sustaining and fully responsible for organizing and financing the festivities. A special thank you goes out to the businesses and individuals who donated their services and their time for the successful raffle fundraiser in November. See the “thank you” sign to the donors on display at the tree lighting.Treelighting120215C copy
